Crime branch busts sex racket being run from home in Satellite, three arrested


The Mahil Crime Branch in the city has blown the lid off an alleged sex trade being carreid out by a husband-wife duo in the city. The cops have arrested the main accused as well as two others. One of the accused is absconding. 

Media reports said that the modus operandi included bringing women of foreign origin as sex workers for which the couple chargted Rs 7,000 to Rs14,000 from their client, 50% of which was given to the women.

Media reports quoted polic as saying that one Ritu Patel of Shyamal Row House-2 in Satellite area used foriegn nationals to run the alleged sex racket. Following a tip off, cops got some fake customers to solicit their service and then raided it after it was confirmed that flesh trade was benign carried out from the premises.  The cops nabbed Patel, 36 and a woman from Uzbekistan was also arrested. Investigations revealed that Patel had hired the house on rent for Rs15,000 and lived with her husband Tushar Patel.  Patel told police that her husband’s friend Bharat Makwana, a resident of Jivrajpark was also involved in the business and that the Uzbek national was brought only three days ago to the city. While Tushar Patel is still basconding, Makwana told cops that he had bought the women for Rs5000 for five days from one Usmanbhai in Delhi.
