CR Patil’s 5000 Remdesivir injections for Surat: Congress raises questions, CM Rupani had this to say….

As Gujarat sees a surge in cases and cities register a shortage of Remdesivir injections, state BJP chief CR Patil had said the party has arranged for 5000 Remdesivir injections. At a press conference when asked how did CR Patil arrange for Remdesivir, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani said it is a question only CR Patil can answer.

Rupani said Gujarat has made separate arrangements to ensure the availability of the injection. He said Kiran Hospital in Surat has been given 10,000 injections and they have been airlifted from Guwahati in Assam.

The district collector has also been sent 2500 injections so far. He said the hospital will decide whom to give the injection and that the state was just a mediator.

It should be noted that BJP is offering the Remdesivir injections free of cost from its office in Udhana. The injections require a doctor’s prescription and people will get it as per the token given to them and availability of stock.

How did hospitals run short of Remdesivir and BJP chief found it? Congress.

The Congress has alleged that even as big hospitals like Zydus and even district collectors in Surat said they are running out of Remdesivir injections, the question remains how did CR Patil arrange for the vaccines at the same time as others ran out of it.

Congress spokesperson Jayrajsin said it is a matter of investigation how Patil sourced the 5,000 injections.

“Citizens are running from pillar to post to access six injections of Remdesivir and hospitals and government stores are running out of stock. Injections can’t be accessed without a doctor’s prescription and yet CR Patil managed to bring 5000 injections,” Jayrajsinh said.

He said if CR Patil wanted to serve then he could have turned BJP offices into COVID care centers the same way it renamed Dragon Fruit into Kamalam.

He also questioned as to why injections were made available only for Surat and whether the rest of Gujarat was not entitled to access to medicines.

He said what Patil’s message essentially is that if you want to save your loved one you will have to seek help from BJP. He said this was nothing but an attempt to hijack the system at the time of the pandemic.
