CPI(M) worker in Kerala hacked to death

Thalassery: An activist of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) in Thalassery in Kerala was hacked to death by a group of bikers in the early hours of Monday morning.

The deceased, Haridas, who was a fisherman, was returning from work at around 1 am when he was attacked, according to reports.

The incident took place in Punnol near New Mahe in Thalassery.

His brother was injured while trying to save him. He was later hospitalised.

Kerala CPI(M) has accused RSS for the murder. It has been alleged that the murder was the fallout of a rift between CPI(M) and the RSS over a local temple festival.

Police are investigating the matter.
