Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government reduced the maximum permissible number of people at public events in wake of rising cases of Covid-19 in the state. The decision was taken at a core committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The new guidelines will be in effect from January 12 to the morning of January 22.
It was decided that to avoid large gatherings, a maximum of 150 persons will be allowed in attendance at political, social, educational, cultural and religious events.
At events being held in closed places, the attendance has been capped at 50 per cent of the capacity of the venue, not exceeding 150. This cap will be applicable to wedding celebrations as well.
