Ahmedabad: Covid-19 is back to haunt schools. According to reports on Thursday, two students of Zydus school in Vejalpur area of Ahmedabad tested positive for Covid.
The school was subsequently closed and summer vacation has been announced from Thursday itself.
While Covid cases in Gujarat are fewer compared to other states, Ahmedabad city has been accounting for majority of the daily cases.
On Wednesday, the state recorded 31 new cases of the infection, of which 19 were in the city alone.
The resumption in regular offline classes at schools and colleges has also triggered concerns about Covid.
Earlier last month, 63 cases were reported from Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in Gandhinagar after students got together for celebration of freshers’ week.
Recently, several cases were reported from National Institute of Design (NID). The civic body had declared a micro-containment zone on the campus to prevent further spread of infection and undertaken screening.
