A woman healthcare worker posted at the Sayla primary health centre in Surendranagar district has died. She was administered with the vaccine against COVID-19 10 days back. The exact reason of death could not be ascertained so far and will be clear only after the post mortem report.
Notably, the woman, Kajal Solanki, was having symptoms such as headache and then she started vomiting and passed out. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where she died.
As per available information, Kajal Solanki, a resident of Sayla village, was working as a healthcare worker for the past five years. She was working in the polio booth of Sayla primary health centre on Tuesday. She started feeling excruciating pain in her head and vomited.
The other healthcare workers immediately took her to a nearby heath centre, where her condition deteriorated. Then it was planned to shift her to Surendranagar’s Gandhi Hospital, but before she could be shifted there for treatment, Solanki died.
Panic among COVID-19 warriors in Surendranagar
The sudden demise of the woman has created a panic among corona warriors in the district. Notably, immunisation against COVID-19 was carried out at 24 locations in Surendranagar in which 822 corona warriors have been vaccinated. This apart, 250 healthcare workers were also vaccinated and Kajal Solanki was also vaccinated under this drive.
A few days back, a sanitation worker, Jignesh Solanki, was administered the COVID-19 vaccine at Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara. Following the vaccination, Jignesh went back home where he fell ill. He was taken to a hospital by his relatives, but was declared brought dead by doctors. His family members staged a protest against the hospital administration, but in vain. Meanwhile, the doctors claimed that the death was not linked to the vaccine.
