New Delhi: History has been in made in India in Covid-19 vaccination. On Thursday morning, India crossed the mark of 1 billion doses administered across the country.
“India scripts history. We are witnessing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. Congrats India on crossing 100 crore vaccinations. Gratitude to our doctors, nurses and all those who worked to achieve this feat,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He reached RML Hospital in Delhi in the morning.

On Wednesday, the cumulative vaccination administration had crossed 99.94 crore doses. Soon after vaccination began on Thursday morning, the 1-billion milestone for Covid-19 vaccination was achieved. By 10.15 am, over 17 lakh doses had been administered, as per the CoWIN dashboard.
India has ramped up its Covid-19 vaccination over the past few months.
