Gujarat on Friday saw 1153 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the fifth that the number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1100 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases have now crossed the 61,000 mark.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 61,430.
The state has recorded over 1000 cases six times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 23 new deaths due to the disease on Friday
Of the total deaths, 11 were recorded in Surat, four in Ahmedabad, three in Vadodara and two in Rajkot.
Mehsana, Kheda and Junagadh recorded one case each.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1598 for Ahmedabad, 417 for Surat, 81 for Vadodara and 44 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 284 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 176 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 219 and 140 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits.
Vadodara recorded 94 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 30 new cases.
Corona related other statistics
The state has in all recorded 14090 active cases of which 81 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks 13th in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks ninth in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 7.64 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.83 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.81 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 410.83 tests per million.
