Gujarat on Monday recorded 1,052 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the sixth time that number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1000 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases have now crossed the 56,000 mark.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 56,874.
The state has recorded over 1100 cases once, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 22 new deaths due to the disease on Saturday.
Of the total deaths, nine were recorded in Surat, four in Ahmedabad while Vadodara recorded three deaths.
Two deaths were reported from Patan while one each was reported from Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Mehsana and Panchmahals.
With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,348.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1580 for Ahmedabad, 373 for Surat, 72 for Vadodara and 41 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 258 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 184 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 204 and 144 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits.
Vadodara recorded 96 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 34 new cases.
Corona related other statistics
The state has in all recorded 13146 active cases of which 81 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks twelfth in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks sixth in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 6.67 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.73 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.71 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 319.90 tests per million everyday now.
