New Delhi: India reported 18,870 fresh cases of Covid-19 infection in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Wednesday morning. This is marginally higher than Tuesday’s figure.
The death toll during this period was 378.
The country’s active caseload stands at 2,82,520, which accounts for 0.84 per cent of the total cases reported so far.
A total of 28,178 persons recovered from Covid-19 in 24 hours, taking the total recovery to more than 3.29 crore. This is 97,83 per cent of the overall case tally.
The daily positivity rate is 1.25 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.82 per cent.
More than 56.74 crore samples have been tested across the country for Covid-19 till now.
Quarter of eligible population vaccinated
Over 87.66 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country till now under the nationwide vaccination drive
The robust Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the country is showing results. By Tuesday, almost one-fourth, or 24.61 per cent, of the total eligible population (aged above 18) was fully vaccinated against the infection.
