With continuous rise in new cases of Covid-19 in the country, people are worried again. More than two lakh people are being tested for Covid-19 in the country daily. A possibility has been expressed that the number of new cases of Covid-19 may increase. The threat of Covid-19 can be gauged from the fact that the number of daily deaths in the country has doubled in the last one month.

The cases of Covid-19 infection have increased rapidly in the country in last one month. The death toll has raised concern among people. Meanwhile, India recorded 11,692 new Covid-19 cases, a 7.14% drop from Thursday, taking the tally to 4,48,69,684, according to the Ministry of Health data updated on Friday. The death toll from the deadly virus increased to 5,31,258 with 28 new fatalities in the past 24 hours, which includes nine reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active caseload in the country stands at 66,170.
Modi government at the Centre and the state governments are in alert mode keeping in the view of the sharp spike in Covid-19 cases recently. Looking to the situation, many states have made masks mandatory, with some special guidelines for wearing masks. The states which have made masks mandatory include Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Kerala and Maharashtra.
Gujarat registers 331 new cases
Gujarat recorded 331 new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday. While 380 patients have recovered from the infection. Ahmedabad, was at the top in the tally with 130 cases, whereas Surat 43, Mehsana 31,Baroda 28, Sabar Kantha 15, Bharuch and Gandhinagar 11 each, Bhavnagar and Valsad 7 each, Morbi, Patan, Surendra Nagar and Rajkot each reported 6 new cases of Covid – 19. Currently, there are total 2042 active cases in the state, out of which 6 patients are being treated on ventilator
As per the official data, 4,42,72,256 people have also recovered from COVID-19, and the recovery rate was recorded at 98.67%. Since the vaccination drive began in the country, over 220.66 crore doses have been administered to citizens.
