Covid-19: India records 9,923 new cases, 17 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: A total of 9,923 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in India in last 24 hours, the Union Health ministry said on Tuesday morning.

As many as 17 deaths were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate declined to 2.55 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 2.67 per cent.

Around 3.88 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in the country in last 24 hours, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 85.85 crore.

 

98.61% recovery

A total of 7,293 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 4.27 crore, which is 98.61 per cent of the total case tally.

The active caseload has reached 79,313, accounting for 0.18 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

 

13 lakh vaccinated on Monday

Around 13 lakh individuals received the Covid-19 vaccine on Monday. So far, 1.96 billion (196.32 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
