Covid-19: India records 8,813 new cases, 29 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 8,813 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday morning.

As many as 29 patients succumbed to the infection during this period, taking the overall death toll to 5,27,098.

The daily positivity rate was 4.15 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 4.79 per cent.

Over 2.12 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in the country, taking the cumulative testing to over 88.06 crore.

 

98.56% recovery

A total of 15,040 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the country in last 24 hours. With over 4.36 crore recoveries till now, the recovery rate stands at 98.56 per cent.

The active caseload is 1.11 lakh, accounting for 0.25 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

 

6.1 lakh vaccinated on Monday

Over 6.1 lakh persons received the Covid vaccine in the country on Monday. So far, over 2.08 crore billion (208.31 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive. Of these, 12.36 crore are precaution doses.
