Covid-19: India records 8,309 cases, 236 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: A total of 8,309 fresh cases of Covid-19 infection were recorded in India in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday morning. As many as 236 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The active caseload of Covid in the country is 1.03 lakh, accounting for 0.3 per cent of the total case. It is also the lowest in 544 days.

The daily positivity rate is 1.09 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.85 per cent.


98.34% recovery

As many as 9,905 patients recovered from Covid-19 infection on Sunday. The overall recovery has crossed 3.4 crore, which is 98.34 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

More than 64.02 crore samples have been tested for Covid across the country till now. Of these, 7.62 lakh were tested on Sunday.


42.04 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours

The overall vaccination figure in the country is 1.22 billion (122.41 crore). Of these, over 42.04 lakh doses were administered on Sunday.


26 new cases in Gujarat

Twenty-six persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat in 24 hours ending Sunday evening. As many as 33 patients recovered during this period. The active caseload is 284, of which 4 are on ventilator, while 280 are in a stable condition.

The overall recovery is 98.75 per cent.

The death toll stands at 10,092.
