Covid-19: India records 7,591 new cases, 30 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: The country recorded 7,591 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the Union Health ministry said on Monday morning.

As many as 30 patients succumbed to the infection during this period. The overall death toll has reached 5,27,799.

The daily positivity rate was 4.58 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 2.69 per cent.

Around 1.65 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in last 24 hours, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 88.52 crore.

 

98.62% recovery

A total of 9,206 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. So far, over 4.38 crore recoveries have been registered, which is 98.62 per cent of the total case tally.

The active caseload has declined to 84,931, or 0.19 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

 

24.7 lakh vaccinated

Over 24.7 lakh persons received the Covid vaccine in the country on Sunday. So far, over 2.11 billion (211.91 crore) doses have been administered across the country under the nationwide vaccination drive. Of these, 15.43 crore are precaution doses.
