Covid-19: India records 4,100 deaths in 24 hours as Kerala, Maharashtra add backlog n umbers

  • 1,660 new positive cases recorded in the country

 

New Delhi: India recorded 1,660 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Saturday morning.

The country also recorded 4,100 more deaths. This is because Maharashtra and Kerala added 4,005 and 79 backlog deaths respectively.

The overall death toll has reached 5,20,855.

The daily positivity rate is 0.25 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 0.29 per cent.

Around 6.58 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in the country in last 24 hours. The cumulative testing figure has reached 78.63 crore.

 

98.75% recovery

A total of 2,349 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 4.24 crore, which is a recovery rate of 98.75 per cent.

The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country currently is 16,741, or 0.04 per cent of the overall case tally.

 

29.07 lakh vaccinated on Friday

More than 29.07 lakh individuals received the Covid vaccine in last 24 hours. So far, more than 1.82 billion (182.87 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
