New Delhi: India reported more than 40,000 cases of Covid-19 on Thursday. According to the Union health ministry on Friday morning, a total of 40,120 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours. A total of 585 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
The death toll has reached 4,30,254. The active caseload in the country is 3,85,227, which is 1.20 per cent of the total cases.
The daily positivity rate was 2.04 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 2.13 per cent.
Recovery rate at 97.46%
Over 3.13 crore patients have recovered till now. The recovery rate is 97.46 per cent.
57.31 lakh get Covid jab
As many as 57,31,574 doses of the vaccine were administered in 24 hours, taking the overall figure of vaccine doses administered till now to 52.95 crore. Over 23.2 crore doses have been administered since the launch of the nation-wide mega-vaccination drive.
Over 19.70 lakh samples were tested on Thursday for Covid-19. So far, more than 48.94 crore samples have been tested for the infection
Meanwhile, Karnataka has banned Muharram processions in view of Covid-19.
