Covid-19: India’s death toll in 24 hours drops to 27

  • 2,503 persons test positive for infection on Sunday


New Delhi: The number of deaths due to Covid-19 India dropped further to 27 in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday morning. This is the lowest single-day toll in almost two years.

A total of 2,503 individuals tested positive for the infection during this period.

The daily and weekly positivity rates were 0.47 per cent.

Around 5.32 lakh samples were tested for Covid on Sunday, taking the cumulative testing to over 77.9 per cent.


98.72% recovery

A total of 4,377 patients recovered from Covid-19 on Sunday. The overall recovery is more than 4.23 crore, which is a recovery rate of 98.72 per cent.

The active caseload stands at 36,168, of 0.08 per cent of the cases recorded till date.


4.61 lakh vaccinated on Sunday

Around 4.61 lakh individuals received the Covid vaccine on Sunday. So far, more than 1.8 billion (180.19 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
