- The daily case tally of Covid-19 infections is higher than the previous day
New Delhi: The number of fresh cases of Covid-19 in the country reported a rise once again. In the last 24 hours, a total of 26,727 persons tested positive for the infection, the health ministry said on Friday morning.
As many as 277 patients succumbed to the infection during this period. The overall death toll now stands at 4,48,339.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in India is 2,75,224, or 0.82 per cent of the total cases reported till now.
The daily positivity rate is 1.76 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.7 per cent.
With 28,246 recoveries in 24 hours, the overall recovery reached 3,30,42,144, or 97.86 per cent.
So far, 57.04 crore samples have been tested for Covid.
Vaccination crosses 89-crore mark
The total number of vaccine doses administered across the country crossed 89 crore. Over 58 lakh doses had been administered on Thursday (till 7 pm).
Now, 69 per cent of the eligible population (those above 18 years of age) has received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 25 per cent is fully vaccinated, as per government data.
