Covid-19 cases in India rise again; 2,364 test positive in 24 hours

New Delhi: The daily tally of Covid-19 cases in the country increased in last 24 hours ending Thursday morning. India recorded 2,364 new cases, the Union Health Ministry said.

Ten patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The daily positivity rate was 0.5 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 0.55 per cent.

Around 4.77 lakh samples were tested for Covid in the country in last 24 hours, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 84.54 crore.

 

98.75% recovery

A total of 2,582 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 4.25 crore, or 98.75 per cent of the total case tally.

The active caseload stands at 15,419, or 0.04 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

 

13.71 lakh vaccinated on Wednesday

Around 13.71 lakh individuals received the Covid vaccine in the country on Wednesday.

So far, over 1.91 billion (191.79 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
