- Cases of Covid-19 cross 20,000 mark after 4 days
New Delhi: India witnessed a rise in daily cases of Covid-19. There were 23,529 fresh cases in infection in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Thursday morning. A total of 311 patients succumbed to the infection.
The active caseload of Covid in the country currently is 2,77,020. This is 0.82 per cent of the overall case tally in the country till now.
The daily positivity rate is 1.56 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 1.74 per cent.
A total of 28,718 patients recovered from the infection in last 24 hours, taking the overall recovery to more than 3.30 crore. This is 97.85 per cent of the total cases.
Over 88.34 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country till now under the nationwide vaccination drive.
Over 56.89 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the country, of which 15.06 lakh were tested in last 24 hours, according to the ICMR.
With the cases going down, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced that schools in Mumbai will be reopened for classes 8 to 12 from October 4.
