Covid-19: India records 21,880 new cases, 60 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: The country recorded 21,880 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday morning.

As many as 60 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The daily positivity rate was 4.42 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 4.51 per cent.

Around 4.95 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 on Thursday, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 87.16 crore.

 

98.46% recovery

A total of 21,219 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. So far, over 4.31 crore recoveries have been registered, which is 98.46 per cent of the total case tally.

The active caseload is over 1.49 lakh, accounting for 0.34 per cent of the cases recorded till now.

 

37.06 lakh vaccinated

Around 37.06 lakh persons received the Covid-19 vaccine in the country in last 24 hours. With this, the total number of vaccine doses administered in the country till now has crossed 201.30 crore. Of these, 92.85 crore are second doses and 6.63 crore precaution doses.
