New Delhi: The country recorded 2,47,417 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Thursday morning, the health ministry said. This is a 27 per cent jump from the previous day’s tally of 1.94 lakh cases.
A total of 380 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
The daily positivity rate has risen to 13.11 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 10.8 per cent.
Over 69.73 crore samples have been tested for Covid in the country till now, of which 18.86 lakh samples were tested on Wednesday.
95.59% recovery; active caseload at 11.17 lakh
A total of 84,825 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The overall recovery has crossed 3.47 lakh, which is 95.59 per cent of the total cases recorded till now.
The active caseload has reached 11,17,531, which is 3.08 per cent of the overall cases.
India’s Omicron tally nears 5.5k
The overall Omicron tally of India has reached 5,488, of which 2,162 have been discharged.
Maharashtra tops the list with 1,367 cases so far, followed by Rajasthan with 792, Delhi 549, Kerala 486, Karnataka 479, West Bengal 294, Uttar Pradesh 275, Telangana 260, Gujarat 236, Tamil Nadu 185, Odisha 169 and Haryana 162.
Andhra Pradesh has recorded 61, Meghalaya 31, Bihar and Punjab 27, Jammu and Kashmir 23, Goa 21 and Madhya Pradesh 10.
The other states have less than 10 cases.
