Covid-19: India reports 18,346 fresh cases, 263 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: The number of new cases of Covid-19 in India once again dropped below the mark of 20,000. The country reported 18,346 fresh cases of infection in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Tuesday morning.

A total of 23 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is 2,52,902, wich acocunts for 0.75 per cent of the total cases reported so far. It is also the lowest in 201 days, according to the ministry.

The daily positivity rate is 1.61 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 1.66 per cent.


97.93 recovery

A total of 29,639 patients recovered from the infection in 24 hours, taking the overall recovery to 3,31,50,886 till now. This is 97.93 per cent of the total cases.


Over 91.54 crore vaccine doses administered

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said 70 per cent of the total population of the country has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while over 25 per cent has got both the vaccines.


Kerala reports drop

Kerala which has been reporting the highest number of cases for past several days had 8,850 cases in 24 hours. It also opened higher education institutes for students.
