Covid-19: India reports 18,132 cases, 193 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: The country reported 18,132 fresh cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday morning. As many as 193 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The death toll has reached 4,50,782.

The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is 2,27,347, which is 0.67 per cent of the total cases reported so far. It is also the lowest in 209 days, according to the ministry.

The daily positivity rate is 1.75 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.53 per cent.

Over 58.36 crore samples have been tested for Covid till now.


98% recovery

A total of 21,563 patients recovered from the infection in 24 hours, taking the overall recovery to 3,32,93,478. This is 98 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020.


46.57 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours

More than 46.57 lakh persons received Covid-19 vaccine in last 24 hours. So far, more than 95.19 crore doses have been administered across the country.


Gujarat reports 18 new cases

Eighteen persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat on Sunday. Of these, 6 were in Ahmedabad city, 4 each in Surat city and Valsad and 2 each in Surat rural and Vadodara city. No death was reported during this period.

More than 8.58 lakh persons were vaccinated on Sunday. So far, over 6.5 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state.
