Covid-19: India records 17,092 new cases, 29 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: The country recorded 17,092 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday morning.

As many as 29 patients succumbed to the infection during the day, taking the overall death toll to 5,25,776.

The daily positivity rate was 4.14 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 3.56 per cent.

Around 4.12 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in 24 hours, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 86.32 crore.

 

98.54% recovery

A total of 14,684 patients recovered from Covid-19 on Friday. The recovery rate is 98.54 per cent, with over 4.28 crore recoveries till now.

The active caseload has crossed 1.09 lakh, accounting for 0.25 per cent of the overall case tally.

 

9.09 lakh vaccinated on Friday

Around 9.09 lakh individuals received the Covid vaccine in last 24 hours. So far, over 1.97 billion (197.84 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
