Covid-19: India records 17,070 new cases, 23 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: A total of 17,070 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday morning.

As many as 23 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The daily positivity rate was 3.4 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 3.59 per cent.

Around 5.02 lakh samples were tested for Covid-19 in the country on Thursday, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 86.28 crore.

 

98.55% recovery

A total of 14,413 patients recovered from Covid in the country in last 24 hours. With over 4.28 recoveries, the recovery rate stands at 98.55 per cent.

The active caseload has crossed 1.07 lakh, accouting for 0.25 per cent of the overall case tally.

 

11.67 lakh vaccinated on Thursday

Over 11.67 lakh persons were vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country on Thursday. So far, over 1.97 billion (197.74 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
