Covid-19: India records 14,506 new cases, 30 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: The country witnessed a significant rise in the daily tally of Covid-19. A total of 14,506 individuals tested positive for the infection in last 24 hours, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday morning.

As many as 30 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The daily positivity rate rose to 3.35 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 3.30 per cent.

Around 4.33 lakh samples were tested from Covid-19 during this period, taking the cumulative testing figure to over 86.19 crore.

 

98.56% recovery

A total of 11,574 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. So far, over 4.28 crore recoveries have been registered, which is a recovery rate of 98.56 per cent.

The active caseload has neared 1 lakh. It currently stands at 99,602, accounting for 0.23 per cent of the total case tally.

 

13.44 lakh vaccinated in a day

Around 13.44 lakh individuals received the Covid-19 vaccine in last 24 hours. So far, over 1.97 billion (197.46 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
