Covid-19: India reports 14,313 fresh cases; lowest in 224 days


New Delhi: The number of fresh cases of Covid-19 in the country was less than 15,000 in 24 hours. India reported 14,313 new cases of infection in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Tuesday morning. This is the lowest in last 224 days.

As many as 181 patients succumbed to the infection in 24 hours, taking the death toll to 4,50,963.

The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is 2,14,900, which is

0.63 per cent of the total cases. It is also the lowest in 212 days

The daily positivity rate is 1.21 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.48 per cent.

More than 58.5 crore samples have been tested for the infection so far.


98.04% recovery

A total of 26,579 patients recovered from the infection on Monday. The overall recovery from Covid-19 has crossed 3.33 crore, which is 98.04 per cent of the total cases.


95.89 cr vaccine doses administered till now

More than 65.86 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in 24 hours. So far, over 95.89 crore doses have been given the doses under the nationwide vaccination drive.


21 new cases in Gujarat

Twenty-one persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat in 24 hours ending Monday evening. No death was reported during this period.

The maximum cases were reported from Ahmedabad city, where 6 tested positive. Navsari and Surat rural had 3 each, Junagadh rural and Surat city 2 each and Kheda, Rajkot city, Vadodara city and rural and Valsad 1 each.

The active caseload in the state stands at 186.

The recovery rate is 98.76 per cent.
