Covid-19: India reports 14,306 new cases, 443 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: India reported 14,306 fresh cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday morning. This is a drop from 15,906 cases reported on Sunday morning.

A total of 443 patients succumbed to the infection during the day.

The death toll due to Covid-19 has now reached 4,54,712.

There are 1,67,695 active cases in the country, which is 0.49 per cent of the total cases. This is the lowest in 239 days.

The daily positivity rate is 1.43 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.24 per cent.

So far, over 60.07 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19.


98.18% recovery

A total of 18,762 patients recovered from the infection in 24 hours. The overall recovery is over 3.35 crore, which is 98.18 per cent of the total cases.


12.3 lakh vaccinated on Sunday

More than 1.02 billion doses of Covid-19 have been adminstered across the country since the start of the nationwide vaccination campaign. Of these,  over 12.3 lakh were adminstered on Sunday.


Gujarat records 16 new cases

Sixteen persons tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Sunday evening. Twelve of these were in South Gujarat alone, with 6 in Valsad, 4 in Surat city and 2 in Navsari. Vadodara city reported 2 cases and Ahmedabad rural and Vadodara rural recorded 1 each.

A total of 85,082 persons were vaccinated during the day.
