New Delhi: The country witnessed a rise in number of cases of Covid-19 as well as death due to the infection. There were 13,451 fresh cases in 24 hours, the health ministry said on Wednesday morning. As many as 585 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
This is higher than 12,428 cases and 356 deaths the previous day.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is 1,62,661, which is 0.48 per cent of the total cases. This is the lowest in 242 days.
The daily positivity rate is 1.03 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.22 per cent.
A total of 14,021 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The overal recovery is more than 3.35 crore, which is 98.19 per cent of the total cases.
So far, over 60.32 samples have been tested for Covid till now. Of these, over 13 lakh samples were tested on Tuesday.
55.89 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours
Over 1.03 billion doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far. Of these, over 55.89 lakh were administered on Tuesday.
Gujarat sees a spike; 30 cases in 24 hours
Gujarat witnessed a rise in cases of Covid-19, touching the mark of 30 after several days. Thirty persons tested positive for Covid in 24 hours ending Tuesday evening. No death was reported during this period.
A total of 18 patients recovered from the infection during this period.
