New Delhi: The drop in number of daily cases of Covid-19 continued in the country. A total of 13,058 fresh cases of infection were reported in India in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Tuesday morning. As many as 164 persons succumbed to the infection during this period.
Monday’s case tally is the lowest in 231 days.
The active caseload stands at 1,83,118, which is the lowest in 227 days. It accounts for 0.54 per cent of the total cases reported so far.
The daily positivity rate is 1.11 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.36 per cent.
A total of 19,470 patients recovered from the infection in 24 hours. So far, over 3.34 crore patients have recovered, which is 98.14 per cent recovery.

Vaccination coverage crosses 98.67 crore
So far, over 98.67 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive.
18 new cases in Gujarat
A day after dropping to 10, the daily cases of Covid-19 in Gujarat rose to 18 on Monday. The active caseload in the state has risen to 193, of which 4 are on ventilator and 189 are stable.
The death toll stands at 10,086. Over 8.16 lakh patients have recovered, which is 98.76 per cent of the total cases.
More than 3.61 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the state in 24 hours ending Tuesday evening. So far, over 6.71 crore doses have been administered in Gujarat.
