Covid-19: India reports 12,514 new cases, 251 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: The number of new cases of Covid-19 in India reduced slightly in last 24 hours. A total of 12,514 persons tested positive for the infection, the health ministry said on Monday morning. As many as 251 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The previous day, a total of 12,830 persons had tested positive and 446 patients had succumbed to the infection.

The daily positivity rate on Sunday was 1.42 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.17 per cent.


98.2% recovery

The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is over 1.58 lakh. A total of 12,718 patients recovered from the infection in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 3.36 crore, which is 98.2 per cent of the total cases.

So far, over 60.92 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the country, of which 8.81 lakh were carried out in last 24 hours.


12.77 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours

More than 1.06 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far, of which over 12.77 lakh were administered in last 24 hours.


20 new cases in Gujarat

Twenty persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat in 24 hours ending Sunday evening.

The recovery rate in the state is 98.75 per cent.

A total of 94,555 vaccine doses were administered during this period.

The death toll in the state stands at 10,089.
