Covid-19: India reports 11,850 cases, 555 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: India recorded 11,850 cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Saturday morning. As many as 555 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The active caseload of Covid in the country currently is 1,36,308, accounting for 0.4 per cent of the overall case tally. This is also the lowest in 274 days.

The daily positivity rate is 0.94 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.05 per cent.


98.26% recovery

A totol of 12,403 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. Over 3.38 crore patients have recovered from it till now. Thus, the recovery rate in the country is 98.26 per cent.

More than 62.23 crore samples have been tested for Covid in the country till now.

Of these, over 12.66 lakh were conducted on Friday.


58.42 lakh vaccinated

The vaccination figure in the country under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive has crossed 1.11 billion. More than 58.42 doses were administered in last 24 hours alone.

More than 123 crore (1,23,19,12,030) vaccine doses have been provided to states and Union Territories so far through the free of cost channel of  the Centre and through direct state procurement category.

More than 18.53 crore (18,53,90,836) balance and unutilized doses are still available with the states/UTs to be administered, according to government data.
