New Delhi: India reported a rise in number of new cases of Covid-19, but witnessed significantly fewer deaths. A total of 11,451 cases were reported in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Monday morning.
As many as 266 patients succumbed to the infection during this period. This is lower than 526 deaths the previous day.
The daily positivity rate is 1.32 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 1.26 per cent.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in the country is 1,42,826, which is the lowest in 262 days.
A total of 13,204 patients recovered from the infection in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 3.37 crore, which is 98.24 per cent of the total cases.
More than 61.6 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19 till now. Of these, 8.7 lakh were done in last 24 hours.
23.84 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours
More than 23.84 lakh persons received the Covid-19 jab on Sunday. So far, over 1.08 billion vaccine doses have been administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive.
19 new cases in Gujarat
Nineteen persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Gujarat in 24 hours ending Sunday evening, while 17 patients recovered from the infection. The recovery rate is 98.75 per cent.
There are 229 active cases in the state. The death toll stands at 10,090.
A total of 18,195 persons got vaccinated on Sunday.
