Covid-19: India records 10,549 new cases, 488 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 10,549 fresh cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, the health ministry said on Friday morning. As many as 488 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
The active caseload of Covid-19 currently is 1.10 lakh, which is 0.32 per cent of the total cases.
The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate are 0.89 per cent.

98.33% recovery
A total of 9,868 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 3.39 crore, accounting for 98.33 per cent of the cases recorded till now in the country.
Over 63.71 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far, of which 11.81 lakh were tested in last 24 hours.

Vaccination crosses 1.2 billion
With over 83.88 lakh Covid vaccine doses administered on Thursday, the overall vaccination figure has crossed 1.2 billion (120.27 crore).

31 new cases in Gujarat
Thirty-one persons tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Thursday evening, while 32 patients recovered from the infection during this period. The recovery rate in the state is 98.74 per cent.

The death toll stands at 10,092.
So far, over 7.89 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the state, of which 5.16 lakh were given on Thursday.
