Covid-19: India records 10,197 cases, 301 deaths in 24 hours


New Delhi: The daily tally of Covid-19 cases and deaths in India rose. In last 24 hours, as many as 10,197 persons tested positive for the infection, while 301 patients succumbed to the infection, according to the health ministry.

This is higher than the 8,865 cases and 197 deaths the previous day.

The daily positivity rate is 0.82 per cent while the weekly positivity rate is 0.96 per cent.

The active caseload of Covid-19 cases in the country is 1.28 lakh, accounting for 0.37 per cent of the overall cases. This is also the lowest in 527 days.


98.28% recovery

As many as 12,134 patients recovered from Covid in last 24 hours. The overall recovery is more than 3.38 crore, which is 98.28 per cent of the total cases recorded so far.

Over 62.7 crore samples have been tested for Covid in the country till now.


113.68 crore vaccine jabs administered

More than 67.82 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the country on Tuesday. The overall vaccination has crossed 1.13 billion (113.68 crore) under the nationwide vaccination drive.


35 new cases in Gujarat

Gujarat continued to witness higher number of cases. As many as 35 fresh cases of infection were recorded in 24 hours ending Tuesday evening. The recovery rate in the state is 98.75 per cent.

Over 5.05 lakh doses of vaccine were administered during the day.
