Gandhinagar: Gujarat recorded 7,476 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Tuesday evening. Three patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
The death toll due to Covid in Gujarat has reached 10,132.
2,861 cases in Ahmedabad, 1,988 in Surat
The number of cases in major cities of Gujarat has continued to rise. Ahmedabad city recorded 2,861 new cases, Surat city 1,988, Vadodara city 551, Rajkot city 244, Bhavnagar city 136, Gandhinagar city 135, Jamnagar city 82 and Junagadh city 23.
Among other places, Valsad reported 189, Surat rural 136, Kutch 121, Mehsana 108, Bharuch 92, Anand 88, Rajkot rural 75, Kheda 71, Navsari 69, Morbi 57, Sabarkantha 56, Vadodara rural 55, Gandhinagar rural and Jamnagar rural 47 each, Ahmedabad rural and Surendranagar 42 each.
Panchmahals recorded 24 cases, Junagadh rural 23, Amreli and Banaskantha 21 each, Mahisagar 20, Gir Somnath 19, Bhavnagar rural 16, Devbhumi Dwarka 15, Dahod 9, Narmada 5, Aravalli, Junagadh rural and Tapi 3 each and Dangs and Porbandar 1 each.
One death each was reported in Valsad, Surat and Porbandar.
No new Omicron case was detected in Gujarat.
Recovery rate drops below 95%; active caseload at 37.2k
As many as 2,704 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. So far, over 8.28 lakh have recovered from the infection, which is a rate of 94.59 per cent.
Meanwhile, the active caseload of Covid in the state has reached 37,238. Of these, 34 are on ventilator.
3.3 lakh vaccinated
A total of 3,30,074 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the state on Tuesday. So far, 9.38 crore doses have been administered across the state.
19 new micro-containment areas in Ahmedabad
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation announced 19 new micro-containment areas in the city. Six of them are in the east zone, four in the west, three in north west, two in south west and south, and one each in central and north zone.
