Covid-19: Gujarat reports 21 new cases in 24 hours; vaccination crosses 6-crore mark

Gandhinagar: Gujarat touched a new milestone in terms of Covid-19 vaccination. On Monday, the number of doses of vaccine administered in the state crossed the mark of 6 crore.

Alongside, the state reported 21 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Monday evening, as per the bulletin issued by the health department. No death was reported during this period.

The active caseload in the state at present is 142, of which 4 are on ventilator and 138 are stable. The death toll stands at 10,082.

 

Maximum cases in Ahmedabad

Of the 21 new cases, the maximum, 6, were reported from Ahmedabad city. Valsad reported 5, Surat city and Vadodara city 3 each, Bhavnagar city, Gandhinagar rural, Kutch and Navsari reported 1 case each.

 

30 patients recover

A total of 30 patients recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged on Monday, taking the overall recovery to 8,15,648. Thus, the recovery from Covid in the state is 98.76 per cent.

 

4.96 lakh vaccinated

More than 4.96 lakh doses of the vaccine were administered in Gujarat on Monday. The overall figure of vaccine doses administered in the state has now reached 6,00,20,944, which is yet another landmark in the vaccination campaign here.

The state had crossed the 5-crore mark on September 7.
