- 18 fresh cases of Covid-19 in Ahmedabad, Surat cities alone
Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported a rise in number of fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday. A total of 27 persons tested positive for the infection in 24 hours ending Saturday evening, according to the state health department. This is the highest single-day jump in the state in two months.
The last time there were 27 cases in the state was on July 31.
No death was reported on Saturday. The death toll stands at 10,082. There are 171 active cases, of which 4 are on ventilator and remaining 167 are in a stable condition.
Ahmedabad sees a spike
Of the new cases, 10 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Ahmedabad city alone. The city had been reporting cases in single digits for past several days. Surat city reported 8 new cases, followed by 3 in Valsad, 2 in Vadodara city and 1 each in Bhavnagar rural, Gandhinagar
14 patients recover
Fourteen patients recovered from Covid-19 on Saturday. The overall recovery is 8,15,726, which is 98.76 per cent of the total cases.
1.64 lakh vaccinated
Over 1.64 lakh persons got vaccinated in Gujarat on Saturday. So far, more than 6.13 crore doses have been administered in the state.
