Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported a spike in Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. From 14 cases on Monday, the figure rose to 23 on Tuesday, the state health department said in its Covid-19 bulletin. One death was reported during this period.
The state had not reported any death in last 31 days. On Tuesday, one death was reported from Junagadh district.
The death toll reached 10,083.
The active caseload in the state has increased to 180, of which 3 are on ventilator while 177 are in a stable condition.
Valsad reports maximum cases
Of the 23 cases, 7 were recorded in Valsad alone. Surat city reported 5 cases, Surat rural 3, Kheda and Rajkot city 2 each, Ahmedabad city, Junagadh rural, Navsari and Vadodara city 1 each.
14 patients recover
The number of recoveries was lower than the total cases reported in 24 hours. Fourteen patients recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged on Tuesday. The overall recovery is more than 8.15 lakh, which is 98.76 per cent of the total cases.
5.12 lakh vaccinated
More than 6.25 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the state so far. Of these, over 5.12 lakh were given on Tuesday alone.
