- After a long gap, state reports death due to Covid-19 for the third consecutive day
Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported 20 fresh cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Thursday evening, as per the bulletin by the state health department. One more patient succumbed to the infection during this period.
After a long gap, this is the third consecutive day when a death has been reported in the state. The death on Thursday was recorded in Valsad, the district’s second in as many days.
The death toll now stands at 10,085.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in Gujarat is 179, of which 4 are on ventilator and 175 are stable.
Maximum cases in Surat, Navsari
Surat district reported 7 cases, of which 4 were in the city and 3 in rural areas. Navsari reported 4 cases, followed by 3 in Ahmedabad city and Valsad, 2 in Kheda and 1 in Vadodara city.
22 patients recover
A total of 22 patients recovered from Covid-19 on Thursday. The overall recovery is over 8.15 lakh, or 98.76 per cent of the total cases.
4.72 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours
More than 6.33 crore doses of vaccine have been administered in the state till now. Of these, 4.72 lakh were administered on Thursday alone.
