The Ahmedabad Sessions Court on Saturday rejected the bail application of the former vice-chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy who is an accused in a financial irregularity case.
The state CID Crime arrested Moghji Patel for his alleged involvement in the case of financial irregularities. Earlier, the court had sent him to three days remand from December 16 onwards. Another accused in the case Nishit Bakshi was also arrested by the investigating agency around the same time.
What courts have said about other accused
The Gujarat High Court on Friday rejected the interim bail of key accused Vipul Chaudhary. Chaudhary had sought interim bail of five days to campaign for the dairy elections. Now Moghji Patel too has moved the Gujarat High Court for bail.
Earlier the Gujarat High Court had admitted and granted a stay on a petition that challenged the District Registrar of Cooperative Society’s decision to put a co-operative milk producer union in the C-category. Putting a co-operative under C-category indicates it is not performing well financially.
Interestingly, the milk co-operative that was put under the C-category was also the one through which former Dudhsagar Dairy Chairman Vipul Chaudhary had filed his nomination for the upcoming dairy elections.
According to the FIR lodged with Mehsana B Division Police Station in 2014, ex-chairman Vipul Chaudhary carried out financial irregularities for personal gains. He was arrested by the CID crime 6 years after the registration of FIR.
