Mumbai court restrains KRK from posting anything against Salman Khan

The Bombay City Civil Court on Wednesday restrained KRK from posting or publishing any defamatory content about Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his business ventures and films. The court has passed an interim order in connection with the defamation case filed by Salman Khan against Kamaal R Khan, popularly known as KRK.

The court observed that, “A  good name is better than riches. Reputation is a sort of right to enjoy good opinion of others and it is a personal right and an inquiry to the reputation is personal injury. A good reputation is an element of personal security and is protected by the constitution equally with the right to enjoyment of life.”

“Reputation and honour are no less precious to good men than bodily safety and freedom. In some cases they may be dearer than life itself,” the court said.

Earlier, Salman Khan had filed a defamation suit against KRK and the court had issued notice to the self-proclaimed movie critic. Salman Khan has sought damages of Rs 90 lakh from KRK for allegedly making slanderous remarks and videos against Khan.

KRK reacts

Despite the court order, KRK on Wednesday tweeted: “Mujhe Iss Bollywood Ke Gunde ka Naam Lene main Waise Bhi Koi interest Nahi Hai. Main Kisi criminal Ka Naam Apni Zabaan Se Kyon Lun? Lekin film Toh Main Fir Bhi review Karoonga! Release Karke Dekh Le Gunde Bhai.

Defamation case filed by Salman Khan

On May 27, Kamaal R Khan tweeted that Salman Khan has filed a defamation suit against him. However, he had shared just the first page of the notice, claiming that it was because of his review of Salman Khan’s latest release, Radhe.

He wrote, “You all can see hundreds of bad reviews of #Radhe on YouTube but Salman doesn’t have any problem with anyone except #TheBrandKRK! Now, it is proof that #DRKRK is The No.1 Critic in the history of Bollywood. All others are just Chai Cum Paani. Stars don’t care about their reviews.”

Later, KRK tweeted that even Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan had said that Radhe was a bad film, and he assumes that Salim Khan agrees with him. KRK also promised that he would not be reviewing any of Salman Khan’s movies in the future.

He wrote, “Salim Khan Sahab father of Salman has said in his interview that Radhe is a bad film. Means he is giving signal to Salman that he should accept that his film is bad, instead of filing defamation case against me. Thank you Salim Sahab for supporting truth.”
