Amid a complete lockdown, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Gujarat on Wednesday increased to 38 with three more cases reported from the state.
While 14 positive cases of the virus have been reported from Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara have reported seven cases each. This is followed by Gandhinagar with six cases. Rajkot has reported three cases after two persons were found positive for the virus on Tuesday, whereas Kutch has reported one case.
The state has erected around 211 quarantine facilities and at present 20,688 people are under quarantine. Around 430 people are in government quarantine facilities, 38 are in private quarantine facilities. Around 20,220 persons have been kept under home quarantine.
Meanwhile, the authorities are strictly implementing the lockdown and 147 FIRs have been registered against people for violating the quarantine protocols. The state authorities also claimed that they have completed the surveillance of more than 1.7 crore people through door-to-door visits and through the phone.
The health department revealed that out of the 15,000 people who have returned to Gujarat from abroad, symptoms akin to coronavirus were found in 50 persons and they are being taken care of by the government.
