Amid increase in Covid – 19 cases in the national capital, Delhi education minister Atishi said, “Our government is reviewing the Covid situation and guidelines will be issued to all schools in this regard very soon.” Meanwhile, Sudha Acharya, chairperson, National Progressive School Conference, said that in 230 private schools wearing of mask have been made compulsory.

As per the Chairperson, as many as 230 private schools in Delhi have made masks mandatory for their students, teachers and other school staff. These schools have also implemented social distancing policies for students to follow. Chairperson added, “Since the Covid situation is deteriorating again, we have decided to take precautionary measures beforehand. Masks have been made compulsory for students and social distancing norms have also been implemented,”
Delhi Schools such as Bal Bharti, Delhi Public school, St Mary’s and Alchon Public School have already implemented COVID-related norms and safety protocols for the safety of students, teachers and management.
Amid increase in Covid cases in the NCR, schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have been asked to ensure students and teachers are masked and social distancing norms are being followed. In Ghaziabad, teachers and students have been asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
As per instructions issued by the District Basic Education Officer, Ghaziabad, school administrations have been asked to make students sit at a distance from each other. “Schools will have to install thermal scanners at the entrances, arrangements for washing hands with soap and sanitizers have to be made,” said the order. It further instructed the administration to ensure classrooms, railings and play areas are sanitized.
The Gautam Buddha Nagar health department also issued recommendations that social distancing and use of face masks at offices, schools, colleges, shopping malls, hospitals, among other public places be followed.
