The Ramol police arrested seven people including a couple and recovered several photo I-cards of them as cops, a revolver cover, 2 airguns, 12 mobile phones and several sim cards. Investigations have revealed that the gang is involved in 35 loots and robbed Rs1.3 crore. They lured their victims with the promise of cheap gold.
Of the seven arrested, Kirit and Bhavna Amin are a couple who reside in Jivan Arya Flat in Vastral. They originally belong to Vatrak village in Modasa. The other arrested are Javedhussain Chauhan, Wasimali Saiyed, Jagmohan, Ankur Patel and Pankajsinh.
Ankur and Pankaj belong to Ahmedabad while the other three are from Kheda. The Ramol police during patrolling got a tip-off that a gang that robbed people by luring them with cheap gold was on its way in an SUV from New Maninagar to Ringroad.
When cops stopped the SUV the driver identified himself as Kirit Amin, a PSI with Amraiwadi police station. When cops sought for identification, he gave his Police Identity Card which upon scrutiny turned out to be fake.

Cops then detained all the passengers in the car including one Bhavna, who is the wife of Kirit.
How the gang operated?
During interrogation, Kirit allegedly admitted that their gang lured people with the promise of offering cheap gold. They would then ask the customers to bring the cash for the gold at someplace.
While the deal was on, Kirit and others dressed as cops would raid the place and ‘arrest’ the accused and take both the gold and cash in their custody and flee. Cops are looking for the victims of the gang.
The gang members have allegedly confessed to orchestrating 35 loots and robbing people of Rs1.3 crore. The gang used the operandi to loot people in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Valsad, Dangs, Kheda and even Maharashtra.
