A close aide of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, has objected to Sachin Pilot being asked to leave the dais during the recently held Kisan Mahapanchayat in Rajasthan’s Rupangarh amid the presence of Rahul Gandhi.
Krishnam on Sunday tweeted in this regard—a development that has once against exposed the internal rift and power struggle in Rajasthan Congress.
Krishnam tweeted, “How can the farmers benefit when the farmer leader is brought down from the dais during the farmers’ ‘Panchayat’. This is not the question of Sachin Pilot’s insult and neglect, but this is the question of Congress’ future.” He also tagged Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in the tweet.
RahulGandhi @ashokgehlot51 @SachinPilot.

Soon after Pramod Krishnam’s tweet, Sachin Pilot’s supporters expressed their resentment on social media and questioned why their leader was ignored at the rally.
During the recent two-day visit of Rahul Gandhi in Rajasthan, he addressed a rally at Rupangarh. During the rally, Pilot’s supporters raised “Sachin Pilot Zindabad” slogan. This raising of the slogan in a Congress rally in favour of an individual was resented by Rahul Gandhi. He asked the crowd at Rupangarh not to raise any slogans.
Pilot has a large following in Rupangarh, which is a part of the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency from where he was once elected to the Lok Sabha. It is believed the large crowd that raised slogans in favour of Pilot belonged to the Gujjar community.
After this slogan shouting, Rahul Gandhi asked the Congress MLA Ramlal Jat and Pilot to go down the stage and take their seats elsewhere. Only Rahul Gandhi along with the AICC general secretaries KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and PCC president Govind Singh Dotasara were left on the stage.
Anger among Pilot’s supporters
The supporters of Pilot resented the unceremonious way Pilot was asked to leave the dais, but it is learnt that Pilot himself went down from the dais at the request of Rahul Gandhi following the slogan-shouting in his favour.
But after more than 48 hours since the episode, Acharya raked up the issue and it is learnt that he met Pilot in Jaipur after the episode and tweeted in his favour.
During a recent rally in Bayana town of Bharatpur district in which Pilot was also there, Acharya showered blessings on Pilot and wished that the latter becomes the chief minister of Rajasthan.
“Mukhyamantri Bhavah (May you become the chief minister),” Acharya Pramod Krishnam tweeted while replying to Pilot’s tweet which had a photo-video of a farmers’ rally taken out in Bayana on February 9. The video showed a mammoth crowd listening to Pilot during the Kisan Mahapanchayat.
