On the onset of April scorching heat has started in Gujarat. The mercury has crossed 40 degree Celsius in many cities of the state. Meanwhile, meteorologist Ambalal Patel and the Meteorological Department (MD) have made contradictory prediction to each other. According to the prediction of Ambalal Patel, there is a possibility of change in the weather in April. He has predicted unseasonal rain on April 17-18 with thundershowers in North and Central Gujarat.

On the other hand, the forecast of MD is completely in contrast to the prediction by Ambalal. According to forecast by MD, during this period the maximum temperature will rise by one to two degrees in different parts of the state.
According to meteorologist Ambalal Patel, there may be rain with thunderstorms in Gujarat on April, 18 to 20. He has predicted about heavy snowfall to occur in the northern mountainous regions of the country. Heavy unseasonal rain from April, 18 to 20 has been also predicted by Ambalal. While pre-monsoon activity will continue in the northern hilly region of Maharashtra Chhattisgarh. According to Ambalal, there is a possibility of hailstorm and rain in April. There will be severe heat after April 26. He has predicted that the temperature will touch 45 degrees and the heat will set a new record.
Meanwhile, MD has issued a severe heat alert in Ahmedabad. On Saturday, scientist Vijinlal, Ahmedabad Meteorological Center in a forecast predicted the possibility of rise in heat and an alert has been issued for Ahmedabad. He also expressed the possibility for increase in the maximum temperature in different parts of the state by 1-2 degrees. Besides, the prediction for unseasonal rain has been rejected.
