Following the thumping victory of the BJP in the six municipal corporations in Gujarat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken a dig at the Congress for its dismal performance in the civic elections.
CM Rupani said, “Forget about getting elected to power, the people of the state do not consider Congress worthy of staying in the Opposition.” The BJP leader also said that the voters have shown the Congress its true status.
The chief minister, while addressing the party workers during the celebration of the poll victory, said Congress continues to mislead people in the name of farmer agitation, inflation and corruption. “The voters of Gujarat have given a shock to Congress’ candidates by trusting the BJP’s policies and politics.
Rupani also urged the BJP councillors who got elected to work hard for the people and be ready to solve their grievances for the next five years. Notably, the CM also said that the party will continue to rise under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also praised the crucial role played by the party leaders and workers in ensuring the victory of the candidates fielded by the party in the civic elections.
